Ancient oak raven amulet (DAM424)

This dream amulet is carved into a detailed Raven's head. Ravens have strong associations with the Celtic God Bran who has both underworld and solar connections and they also have further links with water and prophecy. The wood is windfallen oak and the piece contains interesting natural shapes, markings and a range of beautiful shades.

The raven is very tactile. It has not been crafted with the intention of being worn as jewellery although some customers do choose to wear pieces as necklaces. Suitability would be dependent on size and preferred style as many pieces would be too chunky for the purpose - if this is your wish please check you're happy with the size before purchase. Its primary purpose is for hanging near the bed for a dream charm or holding during sleep or meditation. The Raven is filled with yarrow, grasses and white clover, all carefully gathered from the ancient, sacred prehistoric mound of Silbury Hill in southern England. Hedge-gathered herbs considered sacred to the Druids are also added to the mix - mugwort, vervain, enchanter's nightshade, bluebell, juniper, knapweed, heather flowers, lavender and mistletoe. The herbs are permanently sealed inside with a protective plug of ancient Iceni bog oak dating back to around 2,300 years ago.

Yarrow brings its strong associations with clairvoyance and powers to promote divination. Lavender is a powerful herb which brings peace, harmony and encourages positive thought and restful sleep. Vervain is a sacred cleansing and purification herb. Juniper has strong associations with healing and mistletoe is added for its traditional connections with Druids. Mugwort has been used for millennia to aid clairvoyance, lucid dreaming and astral projection. Our ancestors drank tea made from the leaves and it has also been used in incenses or smoked to induce visions.
